Lemon Bread


Description:
A favorite family recipe

Ingredients:
3/4 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 lemon, grated and juiced

TOPPING
1/3 cup sugar
Juice of one lemon

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar
Beat in eggs one at a time
Add milk alternately with sifted ingredients
Add grated lemon rind and nuts
Bake in greased loaf pan until bread tests done
Pour topping over bread while still in pan
Let sit until cooled
Tease it out of pan so it doesn't break when removing
