Danish Apple Cake




Description:
DANISH APPLE CAKE WITH HAZELNUTS AND VANILLA

Ingredients:
Ingredients for apples:
1-kilo apples (this is 2.2 pounds)
1-cup apple hard cider
2/3-cup apple cider
1 vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
3 tbsp. honey

Directions:
Peel apples and get rid of seeds. Cut into bite size pieces. Mix hard cider, cider, vanilla bean (scrap OUT THE seeds) and vanilla bean pod and honey together and pour over the apples. Let them stand soaking in the liquid for 10 or 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Ingredients for batter:
Then, prepare and mix together the following ingredients:
13 oz. Hazelnuts, finely chopped (almost ground) mix with
1/3-cup flour (all purpose or wheat)
Combine with butter mixture (see below)
Beat the butter and sugar and add eggs and whites one at a time:
1 cup Butter (salted and at room temperature)
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 egg whites
BAKING TEMP: 350 DEGREES
