Description
Circa 1790. The Susquehanna River flows into the Chesapeake Bay within view of the Currier House. A wraparound porch welcomes guests to this Victorian home. Family heirlooms and artifacts are incorporated into the inn's decor, which also reflects the area's historical appeal to waterfowl hunters. In season, a regional favorite is served, "Watermen's Breakfast," which offers sautéed oysters and Maryland stewed tomatoes. The innkeeper is a direct descendant of Matthew Currier, who lived in the home in 1861 when he operated the ferry. The innkeeper will add much enrichment to your experience of the historic home and the area. Be sure to check out the lighthouse, a tenth of a mile away.Publicity and Awards: FreeWheelin'.Location: Small town.
