Description

Circa 1866. This 5,000-square-foot Italianate Victorian was owned by the same family for more than 100 years (until 1994). Located in the heart of Cambridge, the inn is within walking distance of Harvard University, MIT and the Boston Freedom Train Trolley Tours. The inn, including its three guest bedrooms, has a Victorian décor that makes the most of an eclectic collection of antiques, including two grand pianos in the parlor. Period details are evident throughout the charming inn, from classic archways to cut-glass windows and extraordinary marble fireplaces. The delightful breakfast is served in the Victorian dining room and includes a variety of freshly baked breads, pastries, scones and muffins, a fresh-fruit bowl, juices and eggs to order. Afternoon tea is available upon request. After breakfast, guests can head out on foot or grab the subway or bus, which are just a few minutes' walk from the inn, and explore the area's rich history. Metropolitan Boston is just across the river from the inn.Location: City/Urban.
