Circa 1896. For more than a century, the Five Gables Inn has perched on a garden-framed hillside overlooking Linekin Bay. This coastal Maine Inn was originally built in 1896 and underwent an exciting restoration in 1989 which brought back to life one of the only remaining summer hotels in East Boothbay, Maine. Guests now relax and enjoy the tranquility of East Boothbay by lounging near the living room fireplace with a book or magazine or sitting back in a rocking chair on the porch, enjoying the gentle sea breezes coming off the bay. This corner room has lots of windows and a bay view. Beadboard wainscoting, soft colors, and wicker and pine furniture give this lovely room the feeling of a breezy summer day in Maine. We love this light, cheery room. It's very Maine cottage in feel. The walls are hand painted blue and white stripes above crisp, white wainscoting. There is a little window seat below a diamond-shaped window, hand painted furniture, a cheerful quilt on the queen bed, and a wonderful view of the bay.

One of our more requested rooms. Fall leaves are spectacular from this corner room that catches the morning sun. With water views in two directions, you'll know every lobster and sail boat on Linekin Bay. Our largest room. You may feel like a sea captain in here. Located under the 2 large gables, you'll know you're in Maine when you see the shimmering view of Linekin Bay from this room. Water water everywhere. Our smallest room has the best view in the inn. Your head never has to leave the pillow to gaze on water, trees, and sky. Policies
Cancellation: Cancellation Policy: We are a small inn, therefore, cancellations and changes made with short notice impact us significantly. We understand that sometimes plans change so cancellations made 14 days or more prior to your scheduled arrival will receive a full refund less a $40.00 processing fee. If you need to cancel your reservation less than 14 days prior to your arrival date we will refund your deposit if we are able to re-rent the room for the nights you had reserved. However, if we are unable to re-rent the room, the charges for the room you had reserved will be billed to your credit card. If you arrive late or check out early, you will be charged for the cancelled nights. Pets: Sorry and we cannot accommodate pets but there are kennels nearby. Smoking: Smoke Free Property.

Additionally, included in your stay is our delicious multiple-course breakfast served on our porch overlooking the bay or in in our common room in front of a roaring fire. All of our breakfast items are made from scratch in our kitchen using the freshest ingredients available and change daily. Guests will also enjoy afternoon tea and homemade treats, swimming off of our dock across the street, beach towels or the opportunity to just sit back and relax in one of our rocking chairs and watch the lobster boats bobbing in the bay from our wrap-around porch.
