Circa 1878. Primrose Inn-Historic Bar Harbor Bed and Breakfast in Maine is a romantic 1878 Victorian B&B perfectly located a short stroll from Main Street and only a mile from Acadia National Park. The inn features 15 spacious guest rooms, all with private bathrooms, luxurious linens, select antiques and period reproductions, air conditioning and flat-panel TV/DVD. Many rooms feature gas fireplaces, spa tubs and private porches. Historic Interest

Built in 1878 by Col. William F. Holland, a banker from Savannah, Georgia. The design is what is commonly known as Stick Style Victorian. Having survived the Great Fire of 1947 thanks to a fortuitous change in the winds, the Primrose Inn remains one of the last grand residences of the 19th Century in Bar Harbor.
