Description

Circa 1865. The Civil War had barely ended when builders broke ground on this elegant Italianate mansion. More than a century later, much of its original charm has been maintained. The intricate molding and plasterwork are of the highest quality. Common rooms with Victorian furnishings and appointments complement the architecture. Distinctive antiques include an early 20th-century player piano. A decorative fireplace is featured in each guest bedroom. The Bride's Room, with a lace-draped canopy bed, makes a spacious two- or three-bedroom suite when combined with the Solarium or Groom's rooms. The romantic Honeymoon Suite in the former servants' quarters offers total privacy. Located in the Esplanade Ridge historic district, the French Quarter is just a half-mile walk.Location: City/Urban, Near French Quarter and Lakefront.
