Description
Circa 1893. Thomas Sully, a celebrated New Orleans architect, built this Queen Anne Victorian located at the edge of the Garden District. Gables, porches, balconies, bay windows, dormers, flower boxes and a wraparound porch have all been carefully renovated. Furnishings are antique to complement the inn's original millwork, pine floors and beautiful staircase. Guest rooms feature romantic old beds and armoires and there are suites with Jacuzzis and private balconies. The innkeeper is a native of New Orleans and is enthusiastic about all that it offers. She will be glad to help you plan your stay as well as suggest tours to nearby plantations within an hour's drive. The inn is located on the streetcar route.Publicity and Awards: Travel, Channel-Mardi Gras 2001 and 2002, Times Picayune, Southern Living, Detroit Free Press, Local Mayorial Press Conference.Location: City/Urban and Garden District neighborhood; historic St. Charles Avenue.
