Description
Circa 1836. This National Register, antebellum mansion is the oldest commercial building in Jackson. The home has seen days as a private residence, a public assembly hall, barracks for Union troops during the Civil War and a newspaper publishing house. The innkeepers have a copy of one of the original newspapers, The Jackson Mirror, displayed in the home. Elegant furnishings grace the interior, and the exterior is flanked by 12 massive columns, each stretching 30 feet.
