Historic Interest
Duval House was originally a cigar manufacturing estate. The factory building was surrounded by the workers' homes, all of which have been converted into guest rooms. Originally, there were two buildings located in the rear central part of the property. In the late 1890's, however, when the Key West fire destroyed the front Duval Street buildings, these two central buildings were relocated to their current Duval Street frontage location. This move gave the inn its large central interior area which is now a beautiful, picturesque and sunny courtyard, adjacent to our lush tropical gardens. Here you'll find a relaxing and restorative oasis; a respite from a full day of Key West activities. Historic sites nearby: Mel Fisher Maritime Museum (1/2 mile)
