Circa 1819. Rich history and year-round activities are available for guests of The James Manning House located in the village of Bethany, Pennsylvania, just north of historic Honesdale. The Federal style home was originally built by the Honorable James Manning as his private residence. Each of the three uniquely decorated guest rooms has a private bath, air conditioning, cable television, and an electric fireplace. Start the day with a hearty breakfast of home-baked goods, fresh fruit, and a special entree. Participate in one of the many outdoor activities, such as snow skiing, golfing, boating, and fishing, available in the Pocono Mountains. Railroad enthusiasts can see a full-scale replica of the Stourbridge Lion, the first locomotive to operate in the United States, at the Wayne County Historical Society Museum. Many opportunities for shopping, antiquing, and dining are available in downtown Honesdale. The Himalayan Institute, with programs in holistic health, meditation, self-transformation, and yoga, is a short drive away.Location: Mountains.

Wayne Room
Our largest guest room features a queen-sized sleigh bed surrounded by antiques and memoirs of Wayne County. The large windows make this room bright and cheery, with the southern view overlooking the formal gardens and small fishpond. An early riser is treated to spectacular sunrises over the Honesdale valley below. The décor in this room is accented with rose and burgundy and bits and pieces of Wayne County heritage. A day bed offers room for an additional traveler or cozy sitting area to read or relax. The Wayne room has a private bath with walk-in shower. Nightly-$125

Lancaster Room
