Description

Circa 1852. Step into artistic history at an inn recognized by the French Ministry of Culture as a former home of Edgar Degas. In homage to the French Impressionist master, all rooms are appointed with period furniture and named for members of the Musson-Degas family. The nine guest rooms range from a two-room suite boasting a Jacuzzi tub and private balcony to cozy rooms in the third-floor garret. Rooms also feature modern amenities including air conditioning, wireless Internet, refrigerators, and large screen televisions. Recognized as the only home of Degas open to the public in the world, the inn is a popular stop for tourists who are able to purchase tickets for a home-cooked Creole breakfast and a guided tour of the courtyard, museum, and studio; the breakfast and tour are complimentary for overnight guests of the inn. A professional wedding staff is available to assist in planning a French Quarter style wedding in the courtyard and parlors.Location: City/Urban.
