Description
Circa 1860. Giant maples and landscaped grounds create a private, peaceful ambiance at this Greek Revival home, secluded along the banks of the Scantic River. There is a hammock set up for those hoping for a nap among the trees, or perhaps you'd prefer a trip up the river on the inn's canoe. The grounds also are decorated with a gazebo. Rooms feature romantic decor, with comforters, fine linens and furnishings such as a brass bed or a wicker loveseat. In the evenings, hors d'oeuvres and beverages are served in the fireplaced parlor. One of your innkeepers is an accomplished chef and professional cake decorator, so guests should expect something wonderful during the gourmet breakfast service. The innkeepers provide bicycles for those who wish to tour the area, and there is a spa on premises. The inn is often the site of weddings, parties and family reunions.
