Description

Circa 1887. This ornate, Victorian hotel is an impressive site, built with red brick and adorned in white trim. The hotel is stunning, inside and out, with rooms boasting fine furnishings and authentic Victorian decor. A stay at this inn is truly a step back in time. The hotel was built just a few years after Durango's founding during the Gold Rush days. For more than a century, guests have enjoyed hospitality at the Strater. The Diamond Belle Saloon, an Old West piano bar, is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a drink. The waitresses and bartenders are decked out in authentic costumes. The hotel's Victorian restaurant serves fine cuisine in a picturesque setting with stained glass and ornate wood decor. Guests can enjoy turn-of-the-century plays at the hotel's Diamond Circle Theatre.
