Circa 1927. Sugar mill managers from the Hamakua Coast originally stayed at this plantation retreat home for their vacations. Situated on a little more than an acre of mountain rain forest, the lush surroundings melt away any stress. The rooms are comfortable and large, boasting 10-foot ceilings. A typical tropical breakfast may include a fresh papaya boat filled with bananas and coconut, made-to-order free-range eggs and signature macadamia nut pancakes.
