Historic Interest

Vichy Springs is the oldest continously operating business in Mendocino County and the oldest hot springs resort in CA. Three of the cottages on the property are from 1854 and as such are the oldest standing structures in Mendocino County. The history of Vichy Springs spans from the pre-written history of the local Pomo Indians (4,000-5,000 years ago) to the present day spa operations. The actual springs are estimated to be over 5 million years old; extensive travertine deposits and ancient travertine onyx deposits are indicators of the springs ages.
Historic Awards: State Register (Granted), Local Register (Granted), National Historical Site (Granted), State Historical Site (Granted), City Historical Site (Granted) and Oldest continuously operating Mineral Springs Resort in California.
Historic Memberships: National Trust, State Historical Society, Local Historical Society and City Historical Society.
Historic sites nearby: Sun House Museum (4 miles)

Romantic Interest

Clear, starry skies, quiet, extreme beauty, bubbly baths (natural carbonation has been described by some as super romantic)
