Description
Circa 1871. Walk in the footsteps of Mark Twain at this historic mansion built as a family home for one of his lifelong friends. The famed author is known to have visited Robard's ailing granddaugter, a fan of his writing, in the Blue Bonnie Room. The classic Italianate inn has been carefully restored and guests will find marble fireplaces, patterned wood floors, pocket doors, and a flying staircase. The original library is now a guest room with built-in bookcases and a writing desk. The large Robards Suite with two bedrooms and a living room is perfect for a getaway with girlfriends or a family vacation. Ask for a tour of the home to see the view of the Mississippi River from the cupola. Breakfast is served each morning in the first floor dining room. Hannibal, Missouri, is home to many Mark Twain landmarks including the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Garden and the Huckleberry Finn House.
