Description

Circa 1888. "Murder, She Wrote," fans will recognize this Cape Cod-style inn as the home of TV sleuth Jessica Fletcher. Although the home lies on the West Coast, and not in Fletcher's Maine town, guests enjoy equally picturesque scenery. Ironically, the builder of the 19th-century home was a Maine native, Elisha Warren Blair. Polished wood floors, made from Douglas Fir and walls of Redwood have created a sturdy, yet elegant Victorian manor. Guest rooms are decorated with Swedish and American antiques. Featherbeds, handmade quilts and comforters add a cozy, country touch. Angela's Suite, an opulent two-room chamber, includes a fireplace, bay window and stencilled walls. Other rooms offer stunning views of the ocean or village of Mendocino. A cottage also is available. The rates include a continental breakfast and a complimentary bottle of wine.Publicity and Awards: Murder She Wrote.Location: Ocean Community.
