Description
Circa 1890. Located on an acre of grounds, this Victorian home is particularly attractive with its spindle and dentil decoration and arched entrance gable. The front veranda is a welcoming spot as is the handsome tower gazebo on the second floor. The home was built by one of West Virginia's governors, Daniel D. T. Farnsworth, and is now a popular location for small reunions and family get-togethers. Rooms offer down featherbeds and there's a "Celebration Suite" that boasts two fireplaces and a double whirlpool tub. For breakfast The Governor's French Toast with Peach Topping is a favorite and is accompanied by a fruit platter, sausage or bacon and freshly baked breads and muffins. West Virginia Wesleyan College is nearby.Publicity and Awards: Clarksburg Telegraph Charleston.Location: City/Urban.
