DescriptionCirca 1764. During the Revolutionary War, hero Ethan Allen reportedly hid out in the smoke room at this Federal-style mansion. Robert Todd Lincoln and President Taft are among the other notable guests at this historic treasure. The town's first jail cell still exists in the inn's basement, complete with steel bars and the marble slab where prisoners slept. The inn offers beautiful views of the nearby Green Mountains. Inside, guests will marvel at the inn's conservatory, which was built to resemble a ship and looks out to the gardens and the mountains.
