Description
Circa 1775. This seventh-generation mansion once presided over 3,000 acres. With family members starting their own estates, Welbourne now stands at 600 acres. Furnishings and carpets were collected during world travels over the past 200 years and display a faded elegance of the past. Civil War stories fill the family history book, shared with guests. In the 1930s, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Thomas Wolfe and their literary friends used the house as a setting for their writings.
