Description

Circa 1800. This rambling inn stretches more than 100 feet across and has five roof levels. There are heart-pine floors, high ceilings and several fireplaces. The hillside location affords bay breezes and wide views of the Chesapeake, Occohannock Creek and the inn's surrounding 140 acres. The innkeepers are descendants of several generations who have owned and operated Bay View. If you come by water to the inn's deep water dock, look behind Channel Marker 16. Guests can arrange to enjoy a boat tour along the Chesapeake Bay or Atlantic Ocean led by the innkeepers' daughter, U.S. Coast Guard-approved Capt. Mary.Publicity and Awards: Rural Living, City, Chesapeake Bay Magazine (Feb. 2003), Virginian Pilot.Location: Country, Waterfront, Onancock and VA.
