Description
Circa 1860. Historic elements are uniquely blended with modern amenities in Napa Valley. The inn has the honor of being one of the first Calistoga buildings to be listed in the National Register and being pleasantly described by Robert Louis Stevenson in the late 1800s as a "little country cottage of your own." The property features two buildings, the original 1860 Italianate Victorian and the 1950s Brannan House with a private garden entrance. From moonlight to golden, each guest room has its own color scheme and boasts a king or queen bed and private bathroom with rain shower and heated marble floors. Rooms are also equipped with individually-controlled heating and cooling systems, flat screen televisions, bedside charging stations, and private headphone jacks. Historic Interest
The Inn's main building was built in 1860 by Samuel Brannan, the founder of Calistoga, as part of a 25-cottage resort and spa. Brannan Cottage Inn is the only surviving resort building in its original location. Robert Louis Stevenson wrote about the cottages and their "weedy palm" tree markers in his book Silverado Squatters. Historic Awards: National Register (Granted) and City Historical Site (Granted).
