Circa 1837. Originally owned by a cotton planter, this three-story home and brick carriage house currently is owned by two artists and is located centrally in the Charleston Historic District. The inn is within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and the convention center. Red cypress wainscoting, cornice molding and heart-of-pine floors adorn the formal parlor. A full gourmet breakfast is served in the formal dining room where guests gather to enjoy the company of new friends. House specialties include sausage and grits casserole, sour cream coffee cake and warm fruit compote. Guest rooms are furnished with Oriental rugs and Charleston rice beds topped with fishnet canopies.
