Circa 1792. This inn is a four-story Federal-style home with three levels of Charleston porches. All the rooms have decorative fireplaces, high ceilings, original wide-planked hardwood floors and finely crafted original moldings and architectural detail. Peter Freneau, who was a prominent Charleston journalist, merchant, ship owner and Jeffersonian politician, occupied the house for many years.
