Description
Circa 1861. Made of stone with black walnut woodwork inside, this is a French Victorian with mansard roof and wraparound veranda. The inn's two acres are landscaped with flower beds. Bright yet elegant wall coverings and fabrics set off the antiques, paintings and interior architectural points of interest. In the National Register, the inn is an early Newport mansion that was originally called "Blue Rocks." It later became a convent at which time it was renamed Stella Maris, "star of the sea." Several of the inn's lavishly appointed rooms offer ocean views, and some have fireplaces.Location: Waterfront.
