Description
Circa 1736. This 8,000-square-foot, 250-year-old inn stands on manicured grounds on 10 acres of land. Just four miles from the water, the early 18th-century inn has deep windowsills, wood beams, original stonework and eight Rumford fireplaces, as well as two walk-in fireplaces. There is a 1736 stone mill on site. The six guest bedrooms are luxuriously appointed. Some have fireplaces, sitting areas and Jacuzzi tubs as well as period pieces like pencil post beds. Breakfast is an event of gourmet delights such as fresh fruit, fresh baked goods, ham and salmon roulades, French toast with fruit glaze and steamed asparagus and French Banana pancakes. After such a hearty meal, guests may strike out to one of many historic sites including York County Colonial Courthouse, General Gates House and Plough Tavern, Central Market and Eastern Market.Location: Country.
