Description
Circa 1810. Mabel Dodge, patron of the arts, purchased this old hacienda as a hideaway for her Native American husband, Tony Luhan. The spacious adobe sits among huge cottonwoods, blue spruce, and ponderosa pines, with an uninterrupted view of the Taos mountains across 95,000 acres of Native American Indian lands. Among Dodge's famous guests were Georgia O'Keefe, who painted here, and D. H. Lawrence. The mood is tranquil and on moonlit nights guests can hear Indian drums and the howl of coyotes.Publicity and Awards: Cleveland Plain Dealer, Houston Chronicle, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Daily News, Denver Post, Globe & Mail, Reunions Magazine, Santa Fe Magazine, Travel Channel.Location: Mountains.
