Description
Circa 1872. The two-foot-thick adobe walls of this historic hotel hold many stories. Bullet holes may still be seen in the pressed-tin ceiling over the bar, now a part of the dining room. Cimarron was a "wild West" town and hangout for mountain men and desperados. More than 20 men were killed in the hotel during that time. Later, Buffalo Bill Cody met Annie Oakley here to plan his show. The inn is furnished with antiques and boasts both an Annie Oakley Room and a William F. Cody Room (a suite with queen bed, large bath and shower). A modern 12-room hotel adjoins the historic inn. The innkeepers will help guests coordinate their stays with activities such as horseback rides, historical tours and plenty of outdoor activities.Publicity and Awards: Colorado Living, American Airlines, Dallas Morning News, Des Moines Register, Chicago Tribune.Location: Mountains and Country.
