Description

Circa 1710. The Stockton Inn, known as Colligan's, has operated as an inn since 1796. It received national prominence when Richard Rogers & Lorenz Hart included reference to it in a song from musical comedy -- "There is a small hotel with a wishing well." (The Broadway show was "On Your Toes.") Band leader Paul Whiteman later signed off his radio and television shows announcing he was going to dinner at "Ma Colligan's." Guest rooms are scattered throughout the inn's four buildings and feature fireplaces, balconies or canopy beds. The restaurant serves innovative American/Continental cuisine and there is a full service bar.Publicity and Awards: New York Times, Colonial Homes, New York, New Jersey Monthly, New York Great Escapes., WABC-TV.
