Description

Circa 1911. Missoula, made famous for its "A River Runs Through It" connection, is the site of this Four-Square-style inn originally the home of the president of the University of Montana, Clyde Duniway. It would be difficult for the inn to offer a better view of the Clark Fork River, the waterway is just a few feet from the home's front door. Guest quarters are a mixture of turn-of-the-century country and romantic whimsy with bright flowery patterns and quilts dressing the sleigh, pewter, porcelain or wicker beds. Several rooms boast river views. There is a full-service restaurant in an adjoining building, and guests are treated to a memorable full breakfast. Omelets and ice cream batter pancakes are famed specialties of the house. The restaurant features Italian specialties and deep-dish Chicago-style pizza, and guests can enjoy the fare on an outdoor patio overlooking the river.Publicity and Awards: Atlanta Journal, Horizon Magazine, Montana Magazine, A Better Tomorrow Magazine, Great Falls Tribune.Location: City/Urban, Mountains and Waterfront.
