Description
Circa 1790. Located at the square in historic Sainte Genevieve, the Southern Hotel is a landmark and was known for providing the best accommodations between Natchez and St. Louis, as well as good food, gambling and pool. Guests now enjoy two parlors, a dining room and a game room on the first floor where a quilt is always underway. Guest rooms offer country Victorian furnishings along with whimsical collectibles. Highlights include a rosewood tester bed, a unique iron bed, several hand-painted headboards and a delicately carved Victorian bed. The clawfoot tubs are hand-painted.
