Historic Interest
We have four buildings that adjoin in the downtown historic district. Our first building was built in 1857 and later rebuilt after a fire in 1879 as a bank. Our tin ceiling, windows and 14-foot ceilings are original to the 1879 rebuild. Our remaining three buildings were also built in the late 1850s by a doctor from Boston who came here to teach young men the art and science of being physicians. It was referred to as "Bartletts Row" in the old newspspers of his time. We have maintained original facades and restored other to the original look, without the awings. Historic Awards: National Register (Granted), State Register (Granted), Local Register (Granted), National Historical Site (Granted), State Historical Site (Granted) and City Historical Site (Granted). Historic Memberships: Local Historical Society.
