Circa 1874. Experience exquisite surroundings at this magnificent Italianate home sitting on two city lots in the historic district. Listed in the National Register, the inn has exterior walls made of thick limestone block, and massive butternut and oak pieces for beams, walls and window sills. A grand staircase, gilded stenciled ceiling, Steuben and Tiffany chandeliers, and a huge living room imparts a European influence. The great room showcases a Red Wing tile and oak fireplace. Each of the spacious guest bedrooms and the Garden Suite features a two-person whirlpool tub and antique furnishings. Luxurious fabrics include gold satin, red silk, brocade, damask and tapestry. A full breakfast buffet is offered on weekends, a hearty meal is served during the week. Appetizers are available mid-afternoon.
