Circa 1856. Overlooking Lake Kalamazoo, this delightful inn is a state historic site. It is the area's only remaining original lumber mill. The home also has served as a brewery icehouse, a tannery and a boat-building factory. Embossed tin ceilings and walls are accented by antique furnishings. Some of the comfortable guest bedrooms boast a fireplace. After a day of cross-country skiing, golfing or a walk to the local shops, soak in the relaxing indoor hot tub or sit and watch the sunset from the porch. If your reservation is cancelled less than seven days prior to your arrival you are subject to a late cancellation fee of 50% or your charges. Historic Interest
Twin Gables was built in 1865 as an ice house/brewery and has been home to many different businesses before becoming an Inn in the 1920s. We have had the honor of hosting Al Capone! Historic Awards: State Register (Granted). Historic sites nearby: Saugatuck has its own historical museum, and a retired Victorian cruiseliner is docked nearby. Guided tours are available.
