Description

Circa 1884. Pronounced "Clah han," the inn's name is Gaelic for "stoney ground" in reference to Mackinac Island's beaches. Built spacious enough to house Thomas and Bridgett Donnelly's large Irish family, this handsome Victorian home is owned and operated by their great grandson James Bond. The inn's gracious exterior boasts a front porch and upper balcony where guests enjoy watching the horse-drawn carriages pass by. Guest rooms are furnished in period antiques. Kelton Library is a welcoming retreat for reading or watching videos. Afternoon tea is served. The inn's location on Market Street affords easy access to parks, restaurants, ferries and shops.Publicity and Awards: Country Inns, Michigan Living, Country Discoveries, Cottage Living.Location: Great Lakes.
