Description

Circa 1870. Just southwest of Cincinnati (20 minutes from downtown), in Kentucky's rolling hills, is an 1870s vintage farmhouse on 21 acres. Surrounded by 200+-year-old maple trees, pastures and woods, guests can visit with and ride the friendly herd of happy, healthy horses. Both guest rooms feature queen-sized beds and private baths. Turn off the cathedral ceiling lights in the spacious Treetops room and look up at a starry night sky's actual constellations. A two-room bath, day bed and trundle make the big room comfortable for four. Downstairs, add romance to your stay by clicking on the electronic fireplace from your vintage oak bed. Watch the neighbor's cows from the tall windows. Visit in front of the family room fireplace or in the living room with the grand piano. Relax on porch rockers or in the hot tub on the deck under the stars. Fish or paddle around the pond. Hike through the woods or over the hills. Breakfasts include fresh, healthy, homemade entrees from fresh tomato pie or whole-wheat biscuits and gravy to an original Midwestern version of pasta carbonara.Publicity and Awards: Cincinnati Magazine, Edible Ohio, Kentucky Monthly, Cincinnati Monthly, Chicago Herald, Columbus Parent, Kentucky Post, Cincinnati Enquirer, Louisville Courier-Journal, Indianapolis Monthly, City Beat, The Downtowner, The Community Recorders, Arrington's Inn Traveler named "Best for Rest and Relaxation," New Holland Tractor Magazine feature, Kentucky Educational Television program "Kentucky Life" April 2010; Channel 12 One Tank Trip, Channel 6 Travel specials, NPR Brainbrew, WBOB Travel Trips in Cincinnati, Dana was in "Secretariat", N. Reviews

“We originally contracted for a 3-night stay but enjoyed ourselves so much, we added a night! Close to many attractions--go to the Cincinnati Observatory, the Conservatory at Eden Park and Jungle Jim's. Definitely worth your time. but it was the quiet serenity of the farm itself, with its many animals, beautiful scenery, and clean comfortable rooms, as well as Jen and Dana's detailed attention to our comfort that really made our stay. Breakfasts were plentiful and filling, the horseback riding was a soul-lifting bonus, and soccer with Odo kept us active! All in all, highly recommended.”

“Such a relaxing time. It began as 1-2 days, but we stayed for three. We celebrated our 32nd anniversary week here on the farm. What a delight! Food was the Best! I enjoyed learning about and caring for horses followed by the daily ride with Jen and other guests.”

“What a nice get away this was for us. We love it all from the beautiful and warm surroundings, the peace and quiet (no more fireworks), the pleasure of your company each morning, and tips on where to go for a good meal at night. The food was excellent! Thanks for sharing your recipes! Well be back. P.S. We will miss playing ball with Odo and petting all the kitties.”
