Circa 1840. Overlooking the historic river town and its surrounding countryside is Felt Manor, a Second Empire Victorian inn. The inn's many unique features include an underground ice house, original marble sinks and a double stairway that leads down to the street and is known as Felt's Folly, because it cost $40,000 to build back in 1850. The stairway is listed with the Library of Congress as a National Landmark. Marble fireplaces highlight the interior, where guests are encouraged to make use of the library and parlor.Location: City/Urban and on hillside.
