Description

Circa 1840. The Sylvan Falls Mill Site has been the location of a working gristmill for more than 150 years. The mill was constructed in 1840 from wormy chestnutwood. The original waterwheel was replaced in 1950 by a steel waterwheel from Tennessee. The mill is still powered by the waterfall that cascades over one side of the property that overlooks picturesque Wolffork Valley. The property has been a home since then, offering four unique guest rooms with private baths. Refreshments are served at check-in and a full, gourmet breakfast is served in the morning. Outdoor activities are the highlight of the inn. Guests will delight in hiking the Bartram Trail or rafting down the Chattooga River.Publicity and Awards: Country Inns, Mountain Review, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Old Mill News, Savannah Morning News, Coastal Senior, Southern Living, Food Network - Good Eats, WNEG - weekend getaway.Location: Mountains and Waterfront.

Reviews

“Wow! A glass of wine on the porch, in fromt of the fire, with the waterfall just outside, at sunset. What could be better? Well, there was the waterfall just outside our window all night, the gourmet breakfast, the crisp mountian air and very accomodating inkeepers. Don't miss this one.”
