Reviews

“A worthwhile destination B&B, the Herlong sits on a quaint "main street" in the heart of old Micanopy, Florida. It is surrounded by small antique shops, a bookstore, ice cream parlor and the like. Less than an hour south of Gainesville, this place is a popular temporary home for football gamers. If you happen to be traveling in Fall, make reservations way ahead of time. the atmosphere is quaint country with antiques throughout. The innkeepers have always been very friendly. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is worthwhile. I am a luxury hotel traveler and I find that the Herlong (just) meets my desire for service and atmosphere. It is a special place, worth a trip just to stay there. I recommend the Herlong.”

“Located in the beautiful, quiet little town of Micanopy, FL; this grand old home is now a special place and memory for my wife and I. As a surprise for her 50th birthday the staff at the Herlong mansion helped me reserve all 10 rooms and coordinate a catered dinner for 20. Our friends arrived unknown to my spouse and everyone enjoyed the Charlie of the old house and nearby sleepy community which is dominated by antique and craft shops. A wonderful place with loads of history.”
