Description

Circa 1900. It took 150 years for one of the Saketts to finally build on the land given them in 1717. The manor they built was remodeled on a grand scale at the turn-of-the-century under architect Sanford White. In the '40s, the house became a tourist home and received visitors for many years. Renovated recently, it now offers spacious rooms decorated in a traditional, country inn style.Publicity and Awards: Boston Globe, Foster's Business Review, NY Times Business Travel.

Reviews

“For a day, or a month or more, this is a special place.”

“This is a nice clean place. It is besot with paranoid owners who, rightly so, have been concerned about sue-happy clients who have made staying at this inn incredibly ridiculous. I never felt so much anxiety in my life. Do not use the pool. I was forced to sign a waiver and use a specific towel. There is also a "dress code" for going to and from the pool. We arrived at night and were also greeted by a clerk who was snobby. Too bad because the day crew was much nicer.”

“Horrible! Firstly, the Inn Keepers were nasty. We knew we made a mistake right away. Then we were showed our room and told that our room can get cold at night...I couldn't believe that they thought this was acceptable. Then we noticed dead insects in our room on the window sills. Not exactly what you want to see when you stay someplace that you will be eating at as well. I highly suggest you find another Inn to stay at.”
