Description

Circa 1856. The 12,000-square-foot Duff Green Mansion is considered one of the finest examples of Palladian architecture in Mississippi. It was a wedding gift to Mary Lake Green from her parents, Judge and Mrs. William Lake, who built the adjacent house, Lakemont. During the siege of Vicksburg, Mary Green gave birth in one of the caves next to the mansion and named her son Siege Green. Handsome furnishings highlight the spacious and elegantly renovated common rooms where guests are invited to enjoy afternoon tea or an evening cocktail.Publicity and Awards: Southern Living, Southern Accents, Smithsonian Institution Listing of Historic Sights, Bluff's & Bayous, WLBT- "The unexplained".Location: City/Urban.
