Circa 1907. This stately inn was built to be the Oklahoma governor's mansion and holds the history of speeches delivered from the front balcony. The elegant home had only a short brush with fame as the owner did not win the election. Nevertheless, guests today can pretend to be important politicians in the Governor's or First Lady's Suites with antique furniture and goose down comforters. Each guest room has a private bathroom with a whirlpool tub for two and lounging robes and slippers. Start the day with eggs, breakfast meat, and fruit with Devonshire cream, then spend the afternoon sunning by the pool. If you are a bride to be, you can invite 150 of your closest friends and family to witness your wedding on the manicured lawn beside the koi pond. The innkeepers are happy to assist in planning your special day. Specials include a romance package and a candlelit five-course dinner.
