Circa 1853. Just a few miles from where gold was discovered in Coloma stands this completely restored miners' boarding house. Mining cars dating back to the original Woodside Mine Camp are on-site. The lode still runs under the inn. There is a Jacuzzi, croquet field, ping pong and complimentary mountain bikes. In the evenings, guests are treated to complimentary wines and hors d'oeuvres. “What a lovely hotel an American River Inn is!! We stayed there with a group of friends for 1 night on our way to Nevada City and really fell in love with everything in this hotel. The interios Victorian decoration is great, the rooms are beautiful, each item in the hotel was chosen with taste and love. We had wine and delicious sandwiches in the evening and a great English style breakfast in the morning. The owners of the hotel make you feel at home and try their everything best to comfort you.”
