Circa 1790. Family heirlooms and antiques furnish the 1857 Ladysmith House, the Antebellum plantation home that provides guest accommodations. Spacious guest bedrooms and suites offer modern amenities including coffee makers, refrigerators and hair dryers, which are appreciated as much as the historic artifacts and decor. After the farm bell rings, a hearty plantation breakfast is served by candlelight in the 1790 Log Room, a rare Tidewater log building listed in the National Register. Walk the nature trails, and then take a refreshing dip in the pool. Enjoy a barnyard of farm animals, a gazebo, gardens and lawn games. Relax with a mint julep on the front porch or a vintage selection from the Piney Grove wine cellar, enjoyed fireside.Publicity and Awards: New York Times, Richmond Times-Dispatch, Washington Post, Southern Living.Location: Country.
