Thomas Jefferson wanted to buy the land, but built the University of Virginia on adjacent land instead. The suite is furnished with antiques, and there is a fireplace, TV and VCR in the sitting room. There are two bedrooms and one king bed, one single bed and a sleeper sofa. Monticello is five miles away. A sample breakfast menu is poached pears, cornbread, eggs, sausage, apple puffs and other hot breads.
