“We just spent an amazing extended weekend at the most beautiful B&B in Corning, NY. A group of us came down from Ontario to participate in the Wineglass Marathon and had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at the Rosewood Inn www.rosewoodinn.com Owner Suzanne Sanders was incredibly helpful with all of our travel arrangements which amongst other things included arranging for restaurant reservations and setting up a 2 hour glass blowing workshop at a local studio. Husband Stewart cooked a killer Strata for breakfast on Saturday morning and delicious French toast on Monday morning. The morning of the marathon (Sunday) found all of us gathered at Suzanne’s dining room table for a 5:30 breakfast which Suzanne gladly woke up early to arrange. The Rosewood Inn was absolutely beautiful, each room contained its own en suite bathroom, four poster bed, period furniture and decoration. The sitting room, dining room, outdoor sitting area and even the front step soon became favourite gathering areas feeling like home from the minute we arrived. All in all the weekend could not have been any better we will definitely be recommending Corning and the Rosewood Inn to our friends and will probably make it a yearly event from now on. “My wife and I, along with a number of friends came down to Corning to participate the Wineglass Marathon. A member of our group stayed at the Rosewood Inn during a previous visit and recommended we stay there again - What an excellent suggestion. Our inn keeper - Suzanne could not have been more hospitable. Constantly going out of her way to ensure that every need, and I mean every need was well taken care of. Between arranging outings for us, recommending and reserving tables for our meals and preparing our pre-race breakfast (at an ungodly hour) we felt we had our own personal butler/ess. Her hospitality even extended to friends of ours who were staying at another hotel....Sure, come for breakfast - no charge she said - and she meant it! Stewart her husband did an outstanding job preparing gourment meals for our breakfasts - Mushroom Strata and outstanding French Toast....Yum. The Inn itself was warm and inviting. Decorated to the period you immediately felt at home, which was how we were greeted upon arrival "Welcome home". Our room was wonderful. Nice comfy bed and sitting room. They anticipated our every need, providing us with cozy afghans, tea & cookies in the middle of a storm on February 27, 2010. “My husband and I stayed at Rosewood Inn in mid March 2010. It was a terrific inn. Suzanne is very knowledgeable about Corning and its history, and was able to answer all the questions we posed to her. She spent time with us everyday, talking about what we did and what we were planning. All her recommendations were spot on, particularly the make your own glass activity at the Corning Museum, and all her restaurant suggestions. The tea and cookies she offered every afternoon were very welcoming. Being March, it was a little chilly in upstate New York. The breakfasts were all delicious, and she and Stewart paid special attention to dietary needs, a much appreciated detail. The inn is truly within walking distance of the shops and restaurants on Market St, and the Rockwell Museum. It's a little under a mile to the Corning Museum of Glass, so that is also walkable on a nice day. It is just the best place to stay if you are visiting Corning, or if you find yourself fortunate enough to break your journey there. For anyone visiting the wineries in the Finger Lakes, the drive from the inn to Keuka Lake or Seneca Lake is very short and scenic. Then you have the advantage of the lovely restaurants in Corning for dinner. A stay here will not be a disappointment.”

“My mom, wife and I stayed here recently. We loved the room we were in which included a sitting area. Suzanne, the lady who owns the inn was more than welcoming and a pleasure to sit and chat with. The home has a great history and it is very close by to the Glass Museum. I highly recommend this inn if you travel to Corning. The only issue we had was that the room was a bit chilly for our taste but the blankets provided helped.”

“To say a stay at the “Rosewood Inn” is relaxing, or entertaining or elegant would be an understatement. There isn’t a word or even a set of words to describe the experience. This was our first B&B experience and I couldn’t think of a more pleasant location to enjoy it or a more amiable hostess than Suzanne. A warm greeting and tour of the historic home was merely a start. Wonderfully appointed guest rooms with private baths and period furniture selections are rounded out by large common areas like the parlor and upstairs sitting room complete with television, games and reading material of all types. Although the house itself is chock full of antiques and curiosities, we were told to treat the place as if it were our own. For most, me included, that’s easier said than done. But by the evening, I was truly comfortable as we enjoyed the large side porch while rocking in tall ladderbacks and sipping cocktails (of our own making of course) “Rosewood” in itself would be well worth a stay just to experience the charm of a bygone era, but when you add Suzanne’s personality and graciousness to the mix you have something indescribable. Her attention to detail, along with her ability to appear or disappear, as if almost reading your thoughts, is uncanny. If I could, I would deem her “Hostmaster General” She has a wit and outlook to be enjoyed and maybe even envied. The best way I can explain it would be if you happened to be staying at Joan Rivers’ place for the night. That is if Joan was lucky enough to have a husband like Stewart whipping up the breakfast we enjoyed the next morning. We were reminded he’s the “cook” not the “chef. (His own description) My recommendation is: No trip to the Corning Seneca wine country should be considered complete without at least one overnight at this charming B&B.”

“This was our first trip to Corning, NY as well as our first time staying at a B&B and we weren't sure what to expect from either. I'm happy to say both the town and the Rosewood Inn were absolutely wonderful. Suzanne was a wonderful hostess and gave us great dining and sight seeing recommendations. Our room was very comfortable and charming and the breakfast was amazing! Thank you Stew for the wonderful Challah French toast and pumpkin muffins!
