“This bed and breakfast is in a bad location. I should not have even checked in but it was late and we did. The worst thing about this place is that there are trains and the rail line is about 100-200 feet from this establishment! We heard at least five trains during the night! We basically could not sleep. There are ear plugs by the bed but they do not help. The breakfast is at 9AM and coffee is served at 8:45AM. No earlier. It is now 7:45, I am tired and need some coffee! Get me outta here!!!”

“Tired and living off reputation from 10 years ago. Decent place, but expectations as per website are completely unrealistic. B&B is in urgent need of refresh, still has historic feeling to it. Scale down your expectation and you will be OK (although price needs some scaling back as we'll).”

“My husband and I were given a gift certificate for our anniversary It was the best gift we could have been given. We had a lot of fun in Vicksburg. Our bedroom was beautiful the breakfast were delicious The dining room was set with beautiful china and silver. The hosts made us feel so special. We will return and bring friends”

“My wife and I were traveling to Vicksburg to attend a 4 day convention and reserved a room here. As the date of trip grew near, my wife expressed her concerns about the Annabelle Inn and the numerous negative reviews that she had read online. We found a vacancy at Cedar Grove and wanted to stay there with others from our group. I checked The Annabelle Inn website and it clearly states that cancelations must be made 7 days prior to your arrival. Our check in was scheduled for Wednesday July 17th at 4:00pm and I emailed and phoned to cancel on Wednesday July 10th at 10:00am. Carolyn informed me that Wednesday to Wednesday did not constitute a full 7 days and that I should have called a day sooner. I canceled my reservations and assumed that she would not try to bill me for the room. Wrong, she charged my account $448 immediately after we had concluded our phone conversation. Having few options at this point, I called her and asked for my reservation back. Again, it was Carolyn that I spoke with and I had to hold my tongue as she said with a smug attitude, "Gee I don't know, let me get to my computer and see if there is anything I can do for you". She did give me my reservation back but it took two more phone calls to get a confirmation that showed that I had already paid for the room and would not be billed again. As for the Inn, my first impression from the street was that it was a nice historic home. This impression quickly faded as we entered that main house and one of the first things that I noticed in the Parlor was cracking and peeling plaster (or whatever is on the ceiling). Our room was in the guest house next door and my impression did not improve. The building has settling issues that have caused a very uneven flooring and doors which require you to slam them or use your foot to get the bottom to close. Cost cutting measures are also very apparent, such as the cheap peel and stick tile in the bathroom which is badly gapped and coming loose. The wall mount emergency light for the room has been wired with a wall plug and sits on the floor as you enter the room. The bathtub diverter valve did not work correctly and would not completely shut off. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was also non functional. The carpet looks old, dirty, and no longer tight. Vintage hardware has been replaced with tacky looking modern polished brass. The pool does not look inviting as it is in desperate need of resurfacing! It also appears that the pool does not meet the VGB act of 2008 which requires all public pools to have anti-entrapment drain covers. This requirement came about after a young girl was sucked to the bottom of a pool and drowned. The trains are a HUGE issue. The B&B is next to a active railroad track and the trains come by all night long. Our first night, there were 4-5 trains and the noise is loud enough to wake the most sound sleeper. Parking is also a issue as the drive way is frequently blocked. You will also have to drive a park in a very small area behind the houses. Now for the good news, the breakfast was excellent, and Paul is a very nice host. ”

“The Camellia roon was like stepping back in time as well as the tour of the main house. Breakfast was relaxing as well as conversational. We enjoyed evrything from the booking of the vist to checking out. You made my birthday vacation very special. The roses in the room is something I will always remember.”

“My hubsand and I recently spent our 1st anniversary here and it was great! I was worried after reading other reviews online, but our stay was outstanding. Paul was an amazing host. He met us upon arrival, gave us all info for the area, escorted us to our room and the turned down the bed for us. He both cooked and joined us for breakfast both days and the food and company was wonderful!
The trains were loud, but only the initial whistle because of the crossing right there. After that it was only a slight rumble, like thunder. It didn't bother our sleep any. For those who complained, there are 3 other B&B's literally 1 block away: Cedar Grove, The Corners and Belle of the Bends. These houses are old and aren't well insulated, so of course you can hear the trains...and I promise it's not just at Annabelle. Like my husband said, most old homes were built near either the river and/or the railroad tracks. It comes with the territory.
Annabelle was beautifully decorated for Christmas and was close to the downtown areas and the casinos. Overall, it was a great stay. We are sending my parents for their anniversary next year!”

“My husband and I stayed in the beautiful Rose room. We even had a pink Christmas tree decorated and lighted. The entire house was decorated and such a lovely experience. The diding room was done in red where breakfast was delicious. Every room had a different theme. I wish we could have stayed longer in this great house.”
